SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 3

Supporting the construction of Exit 14 at Tuscarora Pike and
Tavern Road on Interstate 81 in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Whereas, Exit 14 would provide quicker access for ambulances
and the general public to City Hospital; and
Whereas, Exit 14 has been endorsed by Hagerstown/Eastern
Panhandle Metropolitan Planning Organization, a joint
transportation planning program formed by the governments along
Interstate 81; and
Whereas, The Berkeley County Chambers of Commerce has made
Exit 14 a priority; and
Whereas, It is becoming increasingly clear that the dramatic
residential growth in the area of Martin's Landing is providing
an even greater need for an additional exit; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the construction of Exit 14 at Tuscarora Pike and
Tavern Road on Interstate 81 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, is
hereby supported; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this resolution to the Governor and to the
Secretary of Transportation.
